Skiers and snowboarders will find arguably the best ski selection in France if not of all of Europe, depending upon which pass they select. Options are available from those that cover the already adequate skiing just in Megeve to that of the whole of Mont Blanc. That by the way covers 437 miles of skiable terrain. The skiing is divided into 3 areas, Mont d’Arbois, Rochbrune and Le Jaillet. Beginners and those weekend skiers amongst you will find these areas most comfortable. Better skiers will not be challenged here,
one of the wider ranging passes is recommended.
Cross country skiing is popular with routes along the valley. As a ski resort destination Megeve earns its five star ranking in
our opinion because of its goodly number of luxury hotels and deluxe chalets as well as its sophisticated night life which includes a casino and nightclubs.
Megeve is very easy to get to, no matter where you land if coming by air. The resort is less than an hour’s drive from Geneva and if you are coming by train there is a direct line from Paris.
However on some days you may have to change in Annecy, so be careful and check it out. By the by if you have a bit of extra cash in your kick you might like to take the sightseeing flight over Mont Blanc. The airport is just 10 minutes from the village center.
