The others are working
, You are skiing. And suddenly, you think of your colleagues working,
back at the office. And suddenly, you realize that all around you other
people are also working – ski patrollers, ski instructors, restaurant
staff-whilst you are not.
Nothing has changed
, At a bend in a path, you are hit by a strange feeling: at this very
spot, everything is exactly as it was before. As it was a hundred years
ago, centries ago even. Whoever has lived here would still recognize
their valley, their village and their home.
Writing with your feet, For this, you do not necessarily have to be a bad writer! Good skiers
can also achieve this amazing feat. They who never fear the white page.
They, who-without any apparent effort – write flowing sentences in the
powder, carve long paragraphs in parallel lines.
Reach the top, It’s a fashionable expression. In the cities it
is used to describe sportsmen, artists, and businessmen – it stands for
success. On the mountain, it loses its abstract meaning: the summits are
here at our feet. They offer us their altitude and their height. It’s
true that it wouldn’t take much for us to become familiar to them.
A te day, It is a French expression for a day to be
written off, lost forever. In the snow, it is just the opposite: a
bright day where sounds are muffled blanket of snow. An
unforgettable day. A successful day.
Bushed but happy , We arrive home exhausted but fulfilled. Of
course, our arms and legs are aching but we feel happy and cheerful. We
feel as though we have really achieved true pleasure.
