I remember Val Morel for the variety of its skiing. Indeed for some of themore challenging slopes that one can find in this unsung French resort.
However what I remember most is its beauty and its memorable view of the
surrounding peaks. This setting has been greatly enhanced by man made efforts as well. There are no concrete sky scrapers but chalet style
buildings, no more than four storeys high, built in the Savoyard tradition
of stone, wood and slate.
Beauty is mixed with convenience as slope side
residencies with door step skiing are dotted everywhere. The numerous car
parks and central cable car enable visitors to totally forget motorized transport during their holiday and use their natural energies to experience
the delights of Val Morel.
